Field Support Specialist Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field support specialist in Florida?
Most Florida employers look for an associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, electronics, or a related technical field combined with hands-on experience. Florida does not require a state-issued license specifically for field support specialists, but roles in medical device support may require manufacturer certifications, and work on low-voltage systems can require a Florida low-voltage contractor registration through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications are widely recognized by Florida hiring managers.
Which companies hire field support specialists in Florida?
Companies currently hiring field support specialists in Florida include Blue Rhino, SPS Global, and National Pool Partners, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's large healthcare, defense, and infrastructure sectors mean demand is consistent across both major metros and mid-size markets like Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale.
Which Florida cities have the most field support specialist jobs?
Tampa, Naples, and Orlando have the most field support specialist openings in Florida. Miami drives volume through its concentration of healthcare systems, enterprise technology firms, and logistics operations, while Tampa and Orlando anchor demand through defense contractors, regional hospital networks, and the state's largest corporate campuses.
Are there remote field support specialist jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Field support specialist work is inherently hands-on and site-based, so fully remote roles are uncommon. About 0% of field support specialist openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve remote triage, ticket management, or software configuration rather than physical hardware work.
How can I get hired as a field support specialist in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a help desk or IT support associate role at a Florida hospital system, managed service provider, or large facilities management company, which regularly hire candidates with a CompTIA A+ certification or an associate degree in lieu of field experience. Employers like AdventHealth, HCA Florida, and regional managed service providers based in Tampa and Orlando run structured associate technician programs that place new hires in supervised field rotations. Moving laterally from a bench technician or warehouse equipment role is also a recognized path for candidates in the industrial and medical device sectors.
Where can I find and apply to field support specialist jobs in Florida?
