Finance Intern Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance intern in Utah?
Finance intern roles in Utah do not require a state-issued license, but competitive candidates are enrolled in or have recently completed a finance, accounting, or business degree at a Utah institution such as the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, or Utah State University. Most employers expect core coursework in financial accounting, corporate finance, and Excel modeling. Participating in a campus career fair or reaching out directly to Utah's banking and tech sectors strengthens your candidacy.
Which companies hire finance interns in Utah?
Companies currently hiring finance interns in Utah include University of Utah, Intermountain Health, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Utah's concentration of fintech firms, regional banks, and large corporate headquarters in the Salt Lake Valley means finance intern openings appear year-round, not just in summer.
Which Utah cities have the most finance intern jobs?
Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Ogden have the most finance intern openings in Utah. Salt Lake City anchors the market as the state's primary financial and corporate hub, while Provo benefits from its dense university population and growing tech corridor, and smaller concentrations follow large employer campuses and regional bank branches in surrounding communities.
Are there remote finance intern jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than some fields, since finance intern work is largely analytical and desk-based. About 24% of finance intern openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements being the more common format. Financial modeling, reporting support, and data analysis tasks are most frequently performed remotely, while roles involving client interaction or treasury operations tend to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a finance intern in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to structured internship programs at Utah-based financial institutions and corporate finance departments before completing your degree. Zions Bancorporation, Goldman Sachs' Salt Lake City operations, and regional credit unions across the Wasatch Front run formal intern cohorts designed for candidates with limited professional experience. Completing the Bloomberg Market Concepts certification or building a basic financial model portfolio gives you a visible credential edge over equally inexperienced applicants.
Where can I find and apply to finance intern jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to finance intern jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings updated in real time. Find roles that match your availability, degree program, and preferred location, then apply directly to the employer through the listing.
