Finance Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance in Idaho?
Most finance roles in Idaho require at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related business field. For accounting-focused positions, the Idaho State Board of Accountancy oversees CPA licensure, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting Idaho's education and experience hours. Analysts and financial planners may pursue the CFA or CFP designations to advance. Entry-level candidates often start in staff accountant or financial analyst roles at Idaho banks, credit unions, or corporate finance departments.
Which companies hire finances in Idaho?
Employers hiring finances in Idaho right now include Plexus, Chobani, and Ampirical, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Idaho's banking sector, large agricultural and food-processing companies, and state government agencies are among the most consistent sources of finance openings year-round.
Which Idaho cities have the most finance jobs?
Boise, Nampa, and Idaho Falls have the most finance job openings in Idaho. Boise dominates because it is home to Idaho's largest banks, insurance carriers, and corporate headquarters, while Nampa and Idaho Falls draw openings from regional credit unions, healthcare systems, and the agricultural and manufacturing employers that anchor their local economies.
Are there remote finance jobs in Idaho?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 60% of finance openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work centers on analysis, reporting, and financial modeling rather than on-site presence. Roles in financial planning and analysis, corporate accounting, and audit tend to be the most remote-eligible, while commercial lending and treasury positions more often require in-office time.
How can I get hired as a finance in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a staff accountant or junior financial analyst role at one of Idaho's credit unions, community banks, or large employers like Simplot or St. Luke's Health System, which regularly hire recent graduates. Completing Idaho State University's or Boise State University's accounting or finance programs gives candidates a local credential hiring managers recognize. An internship with an Idaho CPA firm or corporate finance department is the strongest differentiator, and sitting for the CPA exam early signals commitment even before licensure is complete.
Where can I find and apply to finance jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to finance jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background and career goals.
