Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides guidance and support to students and families throughout the financial aid process by developing and finalizing financial aid plans in compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and company policies and regulations. Assists new, continuing, and re-entry students in understanding available financial aid options and helps ensure funding plans align with their educational needs and best interests.

Maintains a high level of professionalism, ethical standards, and student-focused service while counseling students on financial aid eligibility, packaging, and related processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide financial aid counseling and guidance to prospective, current, and returning students and their families regarding available funding options, eligibility requirements, and the financial aid process.
• Assist students in completing financial aid applications and related documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, accreditation, and institutional requirements.
• Review financial aid records and documentation to identify eligibility requirements, resolve
• discrepancies, and support accurate award determination and processing.
• Coordinate the collection, review, and maintenance of financial aid documentation to ensure timely processing and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Develop and communicate student financial aid packages and monitor aid activity to support accurate and timely funding.
• Maintain accurate and compliant student financial aid records in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute financial aid reports to support operational effectiveness,
• compliance monitoring, and departmental decision-making.
• Serve as a resource to students by addressing questions and concerns related to financial aid programs, processes, and policies in a professional and service-oriented manner.
• Support departmental compliance efforts by adhering to established policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, accreditation, and institutional regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to support student success and effective financial aid administration.
• Participate in training, process improvement initiatives, and other departmental projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma required.

Experience

• Experience in a higher education setting preferred.
• Experience working with and technical knowledge of student financial aid programs preferred.
• Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations which may impact Title IV funding.

Computer Skills

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook, and Word) and data entry.
• Basic knowledge of CampusVue database (preferred)
