Position Summary
The GL Accountant supports the monthly close and the integrity of the Company’s general ledger. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role performs journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analysis across a manufacturing operation. It is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented accountant to deepen their cost-accounting expertise within a growing aerospace and defense manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and recurring entries as part of the monthly close.
- Perform timely, accurate balance-sheet account reconciliations and resolve open items.
- Support inventory and standard-cost accounting, including cycle-count and WIP reconciliation.
- Maintain fixed-asset, prepaid, and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations as needed.
- Compile schedules and documentation in support of the annual audit and tax filings.
- Help identify and implement process and reporting improvements within the ERP.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years of general-ledger / staff accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and the monthly close cycle.
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort working within an ERP system.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet close deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing or cost-accounting experience.
- Epicor (Kinetic) ERP exposure.
- Progress toward CPA certification.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $90,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experience, plus medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), and paid time off. The posted range reflects the anticipated base pay for this role in California; actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
Work Authorization & Eligibility
This position supports ITAR- and EAR-controlled programs. Applicants must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under 22 CFR §120.62 (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual). The facility is access-controlled and the role is subject to a background check and, for certain programs, eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.
