Global Director Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a global director in Texas?
Becoming a global director in Texas typically starts with a bachelor's degree in international business, global studies, or a related field, often followed by an MBA with an international focus from universities such as the University of Texas at Austin or Rice University. No state-issued license is required for the role, but Texas employers consistently prioritize candidates with progressive leadership experience in multinational organizations, fluency in a second language, and a demonstrated record of managing international teams or market expansions.
How much do global directors make in Texas?
Global directors in Texas earn a median of about $103,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,190 for the lowest 10% to over $264,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire global directors in Texas?
Employers hiring global directors in Texas right now include AECOM, Brink's, Incorporated, and KBR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy companies, and large technology firms means demand for global directors is broad and sustained across multiple industries.
Which Texas cities have the most global director jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most global director openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense cluster of multinational energy, logistics, and engineering firms, while Dallas draws demand from corporate headquarters in finance, telecom, and retail, and Austin's expanding technology and semiconductor sector has made it a growing market for internationally focused executive roles.
Are there remote global director jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many senior roles, since global director responsibilities often center on strategy, stakeholder communication, and cross-border coordination that can be performed remotely. About 74% of global director openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and relationship-driven nature of the work. International business development and global strategy functions tend to offer the most location flexibility, while operations-heavy roles usually require regular on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a global director in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a global director role from a strong international manager or regional director position within the same organization. Large Texas employers such as ExxonMobil, American Airlines, and Texas Instruments run international rotational and leadership development programs that prepare high-potential managers for director-level advancement. Building fluency in a second language, completing an MBA with a global business concentration, and taking on cross-functional project leadership across international teams are the credentials that most consistently open the door.
