Reporting to an Area General Manager, as Hotel Manager you will work as the leader of a high-performing team that delivers high-quality outcomes for Kasa's property partners and guests. Tips for Your Hotel Manager Job Search
Quantify your operational impact clearly
Your resume should show occupancy rates you improved, RevPAR figures you influenced, or cost reductions you drove. Hotel hiring managers scan for numbers that prove you can run a property, not just describe your duties in general terms.
Tailor applications to property type
A luxury resort GM role demands different language than a select-service brand opening. Mirror the property type in your resume, highlighting relevant experience like spa operations for resorts or cost-per-occupied-room discipline for limited-service flags.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists hotel manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare for scenario-based interview questions
Hotel manager interviews consistently include situations like handling an understaffed peak night or resolving a guest complaint that reached social media. Practice structured answers that show you balanced team morale, brand standards, and revenue outcomes simultaneously.
Highlight brand certifications and PMS experience
Flag any brand certifications from Marriott, Hilton, or IHG alongside your property management system proficiency, whether that's Opera, Mews, or Cloudbeds. Operators hiring within a flag family treat these as hard requirements, not nice-to-haves.
Negotiate with market data, not personal need
Use BLS wage data and regional comp reports to anchor your ask during offer negotiation. Frame your number around the property's room count, ADR tier, and market set, so you're negotiating on business value rather than personal preference.
Hotel Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most hotel managers?
The companies hiring the most hotel managers right now include Omni Hotels, The Grand Hotel, and Crestline Hotels & Resorts, with the largest share of openings in Texas, Florida, and Georgia, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Both large flags and independent management companies tend to post frequently as properties turn over leadership roles.
How many hotel manager jobs are remote?
About 8% of hotel manager openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, since most roles require on-property presence to manage operations and staff. The sub-areas most likely to offer any remote flexibility are regional director roles, revenue management oversight positions, and corporate training or brand standards functions.
How do you become a hotel manager?
Start in a front-line hospitality role, such as front desk agent, housekeeping supervisor, or food and beverage associate, to build operational fluency. Progress into a department head or assistant manager position where you own a P&L line. Pursue a hospitality management degree or a brand-specific certification to strengthen your candidacy, then apply for GM or property manager openings once you have cross-departmental leadership experience.
Can you get a hotel manager job with little experience?
Yes, smaller independent properties and select-service hotels regularly hire candidates into assistant manager or property manager roles with limited prior management experience. Your strongest angle is demonstrating hands-on departmental knowledge, ideally in front office or housekeeping, combined with any supervisory time you can show. Positioning yourself for a smaller property first gives you the P&L and team management proof points you need to move into larger full-service roles.
What does the hotel manager interview process look like?
Most hotel manager interviews run two to three rounds. The first is typically a phone or video screen with HR or a regional recruiter covering your background and salary expectations. The second is an in-person or panel interview with the ownership group, regional director, or department heads, often including a property tour. Final-stage conversations frequently involve a scenario exercise where you walk through how you'd handle an operational or guest-service crisis.
Where can I find and apply to hotel manager jobs?
You can find and apply to hotel manager jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States in one place. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and property-type preferences, then apply directly to each opening that fits.
