Position Summary
The Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager oversees all maintenance divisions, including Mowing, Lawn Care, Irrigation, general Landscape Maintenance, and Snow Removal operations. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of crew production, resource procurement, and equipment maintenance. A successful candidate will drive field staff development, ensure high-quality standards, and find fulfillment in the collective success of their team. This is a full-time, salaried position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
- Excellent Leadership skills
- Manage field staff lifecycle (hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring); enforce company policies, conduct performance reviews, and manage disciplinary actions or promotions
- Coordinate all field activities, including scheduling labor, materials, and equipment; communicate sales/customer vision to crews and assist in project completion
- Conduct regular site visits for quality and safety inspections
- Lead weekly training meetings
- Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions
- Manage labor efficiency and material usage to adhere to budgets and contracts
- Maintain inventory of supplies and oversee daily equipment maintenance
- Proactively manage customer relationships, respond to complaints, and ensure the highest level of satisfaction
- Ensure accurate flow of field reporting and records to the office; track attendance and enforce uniform/safety standards
- Utilize or learn Proprietary Landscape Software to maximize process efficiency
EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS
- 2–5 years of directly relevant landscape experience
- 1–3 years of management experience
- Excellent written/verbal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Conduct himself or herself in a professional manner
- Possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
- Duties, responsibilities and activities subject to change at any time with or without notice to accommodate seasonal and peak business demands
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Environment: Regular exposure to exterior elements (weather, pollen, chemicals)
- Physical: Requires extended walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and heavy lifting
- Schedule: 50+ hours/week during green season; up to 40 hours during snow season; includes potential evenings, weekends, and holidays
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 based on experience
