MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Install and service industrial HVAC systems including chillers, rooftop units, split units and air handling systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control system issues.
- Monitor and adjust system controls to maintain desired environmental conditions.
- Help maintain compliance with EPA regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
- Document service activities, parts usage and system performance.
- Collaborate with facility managers and other technicians to coordinate repairs and upgrades.
- Utilize Maintenance Connection to track work orders, equipment history and performance.
- Complete required training within designated timeframes and attend all required meetings.
- Understand and support the company’s goals and values and adhere to company, department, safety, quality, environmental, and ethics policies and procedures.
ABOUT YOU / QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial HVAC systems.
- EPA Section 608 certification.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and HVAC software.
- Ability to manage multiple service calls and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and procedures.
- Good communication, collaboration, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to interact with others in a professional manner.
- Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Preferred
- Technical training or associate degree in HVAC or mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with PLC’s and automated control systems.
- Knowledge of energy efficient HVAC technologies and practices.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
- Welding, pipe fitting, or electrical experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DIRECT REPORTS
This position has no supervisory responsibilities and no direct reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee will be required to:
- Use a wide variety of equipment and hand tools
- Use computer, desk devices, and office equipment
- Use push buttons, switches, joysticks, computer keyboard and mouse, pen and paper
The employee will be required to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the work period. The amount of sitting, standing, or walking will vary based on task types and workload.
The position requires the following talking, vision and hearing capabilities:
- Talking person to person, on the phone, and in a group setting
- Hearing in person, on the phone, and in a group setting
- Vision near, midrange, far, and peripheral vision
- Depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
The position requires the following pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying capabilities:
- Push, pull, lift, and/or carry items weighing 50 pounds or less
The employee will occasionally be required to:
- Crawl
- Drive
The employee will frequently be required to:
- Balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb
The employee will constantly be required to:
- Twist at waist level, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below waist/desk level
- Handle, grip, hold, and grasp with both hands together or separately
- Feel with both hands together or separately
- Sense temperatures and textures with both hands together or separately
- Fingering with both hands together or separately
The employee will be required to work in the following conditions: (While wearing safety equipment and/or clothing for protection from hazards)
- Indoors/Outdoors
- Extreme hot and cold conditions
- In wet and humid conditions
- Amid fumes, dust, dirt, grease, and smoke
- In confined areas, high places, and around equipment in motion
- Amid noise
- Amid mechanical, electrical, chemical, laser, x-ray, and industrial magnets hazards
POSITION TYPE, EXPECTED WORK HOURS, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Position is full time, non-exempt and is eligible for overtime.
- Work hours may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Limited travel by driving or airplane.
