Most Louisiana employers require a bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration, or a related field, followed by hands-on experience coordinating software rollouts or enterprise deployments. Louisiana does not have a state-issued license for implementation project managers, but earning a PMP credential through the Project Management Institute significantly strengthens candidacy. Many local employers in healthcare and energy also value sector-specific system knowledge, such as Epic EHR or SAP, alongside general PM credentials.
How much do implementation project managers make in Louisiana?
Implementation project managers in Louisiana earn a median of about $84,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,400 for the lowest 10% to over $143,780 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire implementation project managers in Louisiana?
Louisiana implementation project manager roles are posted by Steward Health Care, Entergy, and First Solar and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Which Louisiana cities have the most implementation project manager jobs?
West Monroe, New Orleans, and New Iberia account for the largest share of implementation project manager openings in Louisiana. New Orleans drives volume through its large healthcare networks and technology consulting presence, Baton Rouge draws demand from state government IT contracts and petrochemical enterprise systems, and Shreveport contributes through regional health systems and energy sector deployments in the northwest.
Are there remote implementation project manager jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and more than most fields, since implementation project management relies heavily on coordination, documentation, and virtual stakeholder meetings. About 0% of implementation project manager openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of much of the work. Discovery, planning, and reporting phases are most commonly performed remotely, while go-live support and on-site training tend to require a physical presence.
How can I get hired as a implementation project manager in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an implementation coordinator or business analyst role at a Louisiana healthcare system or technology contractor, then building toward full project ownership. Ochsner Health and Louisiana's state Office of Technology Services periodically post associate project coordinator openings suited to candidates without direct PM experience. Earning a CAPM certification before applying, or gaining hands-on exposure through a help desk or system support role, gives early-career candidates a concrete edge in a competitive field.
