Insurance Sales Representative Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a insurance sales representative job in Houston?
Focus on Houston's heaviest hiring sectors: energy companies seeking commercial lines coverage, large hospital systems and medical groups needing employee benefits specialists, and independent agencies serving the city's construction and real estate industries. Candidates who hold a Texas P&C or life and health license before applying stand out immediately, as do those with book-of-business experience or bilingual Spanish skills, which opens doors across Houston's large Hispanic business community.
Which companies hire insurance sales representatives in Houston?
Companies currently hiring insurance sales representatives in Houston include 360Care, Saravana, and Scan, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Houston's hiring mix tends to run from large national carriers with regional offices downtown to independent and regional agencies clustered in the Galleria and Westchase districts serving local business owners.
Are there remote insurance sales representative jobs in Houston?
Yes, though partly: insurance sales roles are less remote-friendly than purely analytical positions because client relationship-building and in-person prospecting remain central to the work. About 75% of insurance sales representative openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting a market where hybrid scheduling is more common than fully remote. Renewal and account management responsibilities tend to carry the most remote flexibility locally.
How can I get a insurance sales representative job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is joining an independent agency or a national carrier's Houston branch as a licensed sales trainee or customer service representative, then building toward a producer role. Agencies serving Houston's energy corridor, medical center, and international trade businesses regularly hire entry-level candidates who have obtained their Texas insurance license, and Spanish fluency is a genuine differentiator in Houston's diverse market.
Which industries hire the most insurance sales representatives in Houston?
The sectors hiring the most insurance sales representatives in Houston are Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Houston's role as a global energy hub, combined with the Texas Medical Center and a booming construction market, creates concentrated, recurring demand for both commercial and personal lines sales professionals across those industries.
