Once licensed, most Montana employers require a collaborative practice agreement before you can practice independently.

How can I get hired as a internal medicine nurse practitioner in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to new-graduate or transition-to-practice residency programs, which Billings Clinic and SCL Health St. Patrick Hospital have offered for new NPs entering primary and internal care. Candidates can also move laterally from registered nurse roles in med-surg or hospitalist units, where hands-on patient management experience is recognized.
