IT Analyst Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a it analyst in Tennessee?
Most Tennessee employers require a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or business technology as a baseline. There is no state-issued license required to work as an it analyst in Tennessee, but widely recognized certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or a vendor-specific credential in platforms like Salesforce or Microsoft Azure meaningfully strengthen a candidate's profile with large Tennessee employers in healthcare IT and government contracting.
How much do IT analysts make in Tennessee?
IT analysts in Tennessee earn a median of about $95,630 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,240 for the lowest 10% to over $138,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire it analysts in Tennessee?
Employers hiring it analysts in Tennessee right now include GEODIS, Ardent Health Services, and Timken, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of large healthcare systems, logistics companies, and state agency technology offices makes it one of the more consistent markets for it analyst hiring in the Southeast.
Which Tennessee cities have the most it analyst jobs?
Brentwood, Memphis, and Mascot account for the largest share of it analyst openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the most volume due to its dense concentration of healthcare IT employers and corporate headquarters, while Memphis benefits from major logistics and financial services operations, and Knoxville sees steady demand from the University of Tennessee health system and Oak Ridge National Laboratory's surrounding technology ecosystem.
Are there remote it analyst jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 82% of it analyst openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves systems analysis, documentation, and reporting that can be done off-site. Roles focused on business requirements gathering and data analysis tend to be the most remote-friendly, while positions requiring hands-on EHR configuration or on-site stakeholder meetings remain largely in-person.
How can I get hired as a it analyst in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a help desk or IT support role, which large Tennessee employers like HCA Healthcare and state government agencies use as a pipeline for junior analysts. Associate-level analyst positions within Tennessee's hospital systems and county government technology offices regularly accept candidates from adjacent roles such as data entry specialist or business operations coordinator. Earning a CompTIA A+ or completing a Tennessee College of Applied Technology program in networking or information systems gives candidates a measurable edge when competing for those first analyst openings.
