Job Coach Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a job coach in Florida?
Most Florida employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, education, or a related human services field. For roles within the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation or Medicaid-funded supported employment programs, many positions require or strongly prefer the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credential through the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. Entry-level community-based coaching roles may accept an associate degree combined with direct support experience.
Which companies hire job coachs in Florida?
Companies currently hiring job coachs in Florida include School Board of Highlands County, employU, and MARC, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large network of nonprofit disability services organizations and CareerSource regional workforce boards also generate a steady share of openings across the state.
Which Florida cities have the most job coach jobs?
The Florida cities with the most job coach openings are Sebring, Miami, and Tampa. Tampa and Orlando drive volume through their large vocational rehabilitation offices, Goodwill Industries affiliates, and community college workforce programs, while Miami's concentration of nonprofit social services agencies and Medicaid waiver providers keeps demand high in South Florida.
Are there remote job coach jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're limited. Job coaching is largely hands-on work involving in-person job site training, employer meetings, and direct client support, which keeps most roles on-site. About 0% of job coach openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and the positions most likely to allow remote work are career counseling or intake coordination roles where client contact is primarily by phone or video.
How can I get hired as a job coach in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a direct support professional or job developer role at a Florida disability services provider such as a Medicaid waiver agency or Arc chapter, where on-the-job coaching experience builds quickly. Organizations like Goodwill Industries affiliates across Florida regularly hire entry-level employment specialists and provide internal training. Completing a supervised internship through a Florida university rehabilitation counseling program and earning an entry-level certification from the Association of People Supporting Employment First also strengthens a candidate's profile significantly.
