A key priority for this role will be to own and continuously improve Global Legal’s legal technology ecosystem, including contract lifecycle management and other systems used across the function. This role does require five days per week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Lead partnerships with Global Legal teams to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities to improve workflows, consistency, and user experience.
- Own and improve legal systems and workflows across Global Legal’s technology stack, including contract lifecycle management and other legal operations tools.
- Serve as the legal-side owner for key systems and workflows, building alignment across legal teams on priorities, requirements, and process decisions.
- Gather, assess, and translate business needs into clear workflow, configuration, and functional requirements for product and engineering teams.
- Drive workflow and process improvement by mapping current and future-state processes, identifying gaps or inefficiencies, and partnering with cross-functional teams to implement durable solutions.
- Partner on rollout and adoption efforts for new or updated tools and processes, including training, communications, and issue resolution.
- Establish and maintain strong operational discipline through structured data capture, reporting, and clear documentation of workflows, decisions, and key process materials.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in legal operations, legal technology, process improvement, systems implementation, or a similar business-partner role.
- Strong ability to work effectively with both legal stakeholders and technical teams, and to translate business needs into clear operational or system requirements.
- Experience leading workflow improvement, system enhancement, or operational change in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, exercise sound judgment, and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience supporting or managing legal technology platforms, including CLM or other workflow-based systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive progress across teams, regions, and time zones.
- Practical understanding of how automation and AI can be applied within legal operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a legal department or another regulated, process-driven environment.
- Familiarity with workflow, intake, approval, reporting, or automation tools used in legal or operational settings.
- Practical understanding of change management and user adoption in connection with systems or process improvements.

Tips for Your Legal Operations Manager Job Search
Quantify process improvements on your resume
Legal operations roles live and die on efficiency gains. Replace vague claims with specific outcomes you drove, such as reducing outside counsel invoice review time or cutting contract turnaround cycles. Hiring managers in this field read dozens of resumes and skip over generic process language.
Highlight your legal tech stack fluency
List every matter management, e-billing, contract lifecycle, or legal hold platform you have used by name. Employers screen for tools like Brightflag, SimpleLegal, Ironclad, or Relativity before they ever read your experience section, so burying these in a paragraph loses you interviews.
Target openings by department structure
A legal operations manager inside a solo general counsel shop has a very different scope than one inside a 40-person legal department. Filter openings by company size and department headcount before applying so your cover letter addresses the actual organizational challenges that employer faces.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists legal operations manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare case studies for your panel interview
Most legal operations searches include a panel with both the general counsel and a finance or procurement lead. Prepare two or three brief case studies showing how you built a business case for a legal technology purchase or redesigned a workflow, since both audiences will probe from different angles.
Negotiate scope before you negotiate salary
Before accepting an offer, ask exactly which functions you own from day one versus which are aspirational. Legal operations roles frequently expand on paper during a search but launch with a narrower remit, so clarifying budget authority, headcount, and reporting lines protects you from a mismatch six months in.
Legal Operations Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most legal operations managers?
The companies hiring the most legal operations managers right now include Amazon, CVS Health, and Walmart, with the largest share of openings in California, Texas, and New York, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand tends to be highest at technology companies, financial services firms, and healthcare organizations with large in-house legal teams.
How many legal operations manager jobs are remote?
About 23% of legal operations manager openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more flexible roles within corporate legal departments. Sub-areas focused on legal technology implementation, vendor management, and e-billing oversight tend to attract the highest share of remote and hybrid arrangements.
How do you become a legal operations manager?
Most legal operations managers move into the role from a background in law firm administration, paralegal work, legal project management, or procurement. Building fluency with legal technology platforms, earning a Certified Legal Manager credential, and taking on process improvement or budget oversight responsibilities in a current legal role are the most direct ways to qualify. Joining professional communities such as the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium also accelerates the transition.
Can you get hired as a legal operations manager with limited experience?
Entry into legal operations typically requires adjacent experience rather than a blank slate. Candidates coming from paralegal, legal project coordinator, or law firm operations roles are competitive even without a dedicated legal operations title. Demonstrating hands-on experience with e-billing or contract management tools, and showing you have owned a process improvement initiative, makes up for a shorter tenure more effectively than formal credentials alone.
What does the legal operations manager interview process look like?
The process typically begins with an HR or recruiting screen, followed by a substantive interview with the general counsel or chief legal officer. A panel interview with finance, procurement, or IT stakeholders is common because legal operations sits at the intersection of those functions. Many employers add a practical exercise asking candidates to audit a sample matter management workflow, build a vendor scorecard, or present a business case for a technology investment before an offer is extended.
Where can I find and apply to legal operations manager jobs?
You can find and apply to legal operations manager jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States in one place. Search for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to each listing that fits.
