ABOUT THE ROLE
Airgas is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Distribution Manager to join our Greenville team. -
Fleet Analytics & Insights: Use routing software to analyze driver patterns, idle times, and mileage to improve operational sustainability.
-
Driver Support & Engagement: Facilitate the "Morning Kickoff," conducting safety briefings, verifying manifests, and ensuring every driver is supported with a clear, efficient plan.
-
Regulatory Excellence: Maintain "audit-ready" status for all DOT filings, ELD logs, and shipping documentation.
-
Asset Management: Partner with the maintenance team to schedule preventative maintenance, ensuring the Greenville fleet remains reliable and safe.
SECONDARY FOCUS: Branch Collaboration
-
Operational Continuity: Serve as the designated lead in the Branch Manager's absence, supporting the warehouse, sales, and overall branch health.
-
Safety Advocacy: Champion the "Safety First" initiative, ensuring the secure handling of high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic liquids through consistent standards.
-
Customer Relationship Management: Resolve delivery-related customer concerns, serving as a bridge between the road team and the customer's needs.

Tips for Your Distribution Manager Job Search
Quantify throughput and fulfillment metrics on your resume
Distribution manager resumes that stand out name specific volume figures like units shipped per day, on-time delivery rates, or inventory accuracy improvements. Generic claims about managing teams or reducing costs won't differentiate you from dozens of other applicants with similar titles.
Target openings by distribution model not just title
Filter for roles that match the distribution model you know best, whether that's direct-to-consumer, business-to-business, omnichannel, or third-party logistics. A candidate from a high-volume e-commerce warehouse is a different fit than one from a regional wholesale distributor.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists distribution manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Highlight your WMS and TMS proficiency clearly
Employers expect you to name the warehouse management and transportation management systems you've operated. List specific platforms like Manhattan Associates, SAP EWM, Blue Yonder, or Oracle WMS rather than writing 'experience with WMS software.'
Prepare case studies around operational problem-solving
Interviewers for distribution manager roles routinely ask how you handled a carrier failure, a peak-season surge, or a compliance issue. Prepare two or three concrete examples with a clear situation, your decision, and the measurable outcome before your first interview.
Negotiate your offer with total compensation in mind
Distribution manager offers often include performance bonuses tied to fill rates, shrinkage, or cost-per-unit targets. Ask specifically how those metrics are calculated and what recent payout history looks like before you accept any number on the base offer alone.
Distribution Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most distribution managers?
The companies hiring the most distribution managers right now include SRS Distribution, Sunny Distributor, and SRS Distribution, with the largest share of openings in Texas, California, and Georgia, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is concentrated among large retailers, third-party logistics providers, and food and beverage distributors expanding their regional networks.
How many distribution manager jobs are remote?
About 28% of distribution manager openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, since most roles require on-site oversight of physical operations. The sub-areas most compatible with remote or hybrid arrangements are network planning, vendor compliance, and transportation analytics roles within larger distribution organizations.
How do you become a distribution manager?
Most distribution managers start in warehouse associate, inventory control, or logistics coordinator roles and move into supervisory positions before stepping into management. Building hands-on experience with warehouse management systems, earning a supply chain certification like APICS CPIM, and demonstrating that you can hit throughput and accuracy KPIs consistently are the practical steps that lead to a manager-level offer.
Can you get hired as a distribution manager without direct management experience?
You can transition into a distribution manager role from a senior individual-contributor position if you've led process improvement projects, trained other team members, or owned a specific operational function like inbound receiving or outbound shipping. Employers in smaller distribution centers are more open to promoting from within or hiring a strong lead without prior manager titles, especially if you can speak to measurable results.
What does the distribution manager interview process look like?
Most distribution manager interviews run two to four rounds. The first is typically a phone screen with HR focused on your background and availability. The second brings in the operations director or VP of supply chain and centers on behavioral questions about how you've handled labor shortages, carrier failures, or peak-volume periods. A final round often includes a facility walkthrough or a situational exercise where you talk through how you'd approach an operational problem specific to their network.
Where can I find and apply to distribution manager jobs?
You can find and apply to distribution manager jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the United States. Search for roles that match your experience level and distribution model, then apply directly to each listing that fits.
