Still Waters Counseling Services is a growing group practice with a full referral pipeline, and the couples we serve need more clinicians who love this work. We’re looking for a therapist (licensed preferred but associate will be considered) who wants couples therapy to be the heart of their caseload, with the systems, support, and collaborative team to let you focus on clinical care. We welcome marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, and clinical social workers alike.

Still Waters Counseling Services, LLC is owned and operated by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist committed to expanding and diversifying our team of mental health professionals. Our team includes 29 mental health clinicians across various levels of experience, as well as a Naturopathic Doctor who provides psychiatric care and medication management.
We offer a collaborative, supportive, and growth-oriented environment, with a strong culture of lifelong learning and whole-person development. Our clinicians receive extensive support through steady referrals, billing services, marketing materials, administrative assistance, and case management resources.
Who we’re looking for
- Licensed in Oregon as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW (strongly preferred), or a registered associate (Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, Professional Counselor Associate, or Clinical Social Work Associate) with meaningful couples experience
- Training or strong interest in a couples model such as Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), PACT, Imago, or Discernment Counseling
- Comfort working with common couples concerns such as communication breakdowns, high conflict, infidelity and affair recovery, intimacy and sexual concerns, premarital work, and co-parenting
- Familiarity with screening for intimate partner violence and making sound decisions about when conjoint therapy is and isn’t appropriate
- A commitment to inclusive, culturally humble care, including work with LGBTQ+, multicultural, and non-traditional relationships
- Openness to collaboration, feedback, and continued learning
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling, clinical social work, behavioral science, psychology, or marriage and family therapy
Experience or strong foundational skills in:
- Communicating effectively with children, teens, and families
- Conducting mental health assessments and documenting DSM-5 diagnoses
- Developing and implementing treatment plans
- Providing individual, family, or group therapy within the scope of training
- Understanding child development, behavioral needs, and family systems
- Ability to use: Google Drive/Docs/Sheets/Slides/Forms, Zoom, Gmail, Slack
- Clinical competence in gathering developmental, mental health, and family histories; conducting mental status exams; and assessing risk and safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain full licensure within 3 years (if not already licensed)
- Trauma-focused training (EMDR, TF-CBT, Brainspotting)
- Experience in modalities applicable to child therapy (CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, ACT, Narrative, Strength-Based, Somatic approaches, etc.)
- Interest in developing niche specialties within couples, marriage and family services
- Experience with expressive therapies: art, music, movement, or play-based approaches
- CADC-I eligibility (optional)
