Management Consultant Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a management consultant in Michigan?
Michigan does not require a state-issued license to work as a management consultant. Most firms hire candidates with a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, finance, or a related discipline, and many prefer candidates who hold an MBA from Michigan programs such as the University of Michigan Ross School of Business or Michigan State University's Broad College. Earning a Certified Management Consultant credential through the Institute of Management Consultants strengthens applications considerably.
Which companies hire management consultants in Michigan?
Employers hiring management consultants in Michigan right now include Dewolff, Boberg & Associates, Deloitte, and Accenture, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's concentration of automotive manufacturers, large healthcare systems, and regional financial institutions means sustained demand for consultants with industry-specific expertise.
Which Michigan cities have the most management consultant jobs?
Detroit, Michigan, and Novi have the most management consultant openings in Michigan. Detroit drives the largest share of demand through its headquarters-heavy automotive, manufacturing, and professional services sectors, while Grand Rapids reflects a growing healthcare and life sciences corridor and Ann Arbor's concentration of university-affiliated research institutions and technology firms pulls additional demand.
Are there remote management consultant jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and more than many professional roles. About 67% of management consultant openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves research, modeling, and client presentations that travel well digitally. Strategy and analytics-focused engagements tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while operational and on-site transformation projects typically require in-person presence at client facilities.
How can I get hired as a management consultant in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business analyst or junior associate role at a consulting firm with a Michigan office. Accenture, Deloitte, and regional firms based in Detroit and Grand Rapids run structured analyst programs that hire recent graduates from Michigan universities. Transitioning from a Michigan-based automotive, healthcare, or finance role also opens doors, since firms value industry knowledge. A strong capstone project, internship record, or a Certified Management Consultant candidacy application all sharpen a new candidate's profile.
Where can I find and apply to management consultant jobs in Michigan?
You can find and apply to management consultant jobs in Michigan on Migrate Mate, which lists current Michigan openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to each position.
