TITLE: Food Manufacturing Machine Operator
SHIFT: Morning (5:30 AM - 1 PM)
LOCATION: Lindon, UT
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORTS TO: Production Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Machine Operator / Production Worker installs, maintains, and operates machinery in the food production area. Therefore, it is essential to have a strong understanding of the machines they work with. Machine Operators complete a variety of maintenance, development, and operation tasks that promote the efficient production of the manufacturing plant.
Machine operators may work with mechanical or computer-operated equipment. They must be technically inclined and be able to properly utilize tools and machinery. Since problems with machinery may arise, machine operators must be able to analyze situations and find solutions.
Machine Operators must be detail-oriented and willing to learn. Machine operators should be able to follow instructions, work with others, and help ensure that all safety regulations are followed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Combination of additional education and experience in machine operation.
- Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work and communicate well with others.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Effective communication including speaking, writing, active listening, and taking instructions in English.
- Active self-starter
- Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of following machinery manuals
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a production floor.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be asked to participate in work that may sometimes be exposed to odors, fumes, dust, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, loud noises, and vibration.
- Certain products handled by the company contain milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustacean shellfish, soybeans, wheat, and sesame
