HVAC & Boiler Service Technician

Holiday Heating – Provo, Utah
$25–$35/hour DOE + Sign-On Bonus

Job Overview

Holiday Heating is looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician who wants to expand their skills in boilers, hydronic heating, controls, combustion, and advanced troubleshooting.

This is a hands-on field position for a technician who already has a solid HVAC foundation, can troubleshoot equipment, communicates well with customers, and wants to continue growing professionally.

Most of our work is residential, with opportunities to work on commercial and industrial boiler systems as well. You’ll work directly alongside a boiler specialist with 20+ years of experience and gain hands-on exposure to hydronic heating systems, pumps, controls, combustion testing, steam and hot-water boilers, and specialized heating equipment.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, has good judgment, is dependable and coachable, and wants to become a higher-level technician.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, service, repair, and install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, gas, and control-related problems
• Service and repair hot-water boilers and hydronic heating systems
• Work with pumps, piping, zone systems, controls, heat exchangers, and related equipment
• Perform combustion testing and assist with burner setup and troubleshooting
• Perform preventative maintenance and identify developing equipment problems
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturer service manuals
• Work on residential equipment as well as selected commercial and industrial boiler systems
• Assist with steam boiler and specialty heating work when needed
• Communicate findings, repair options, and completed work clearly and professionally to customers
• Complete assigned work safely, accurately, and efficiently
• Maintain organized service records, tools, vehicles, and work areas
• Continue developing technical knowledge through hands-on experience, manufacturer training, and continuing education

Specialized boiler and hydronic mentorship will be provided based on the technician’s existing experience.

What We're Looking For

• Previous HVAC service and troubleshooting experience
• Completed or enrolled in a formal HVAC trade program, or equivalent field experience
• Utah RMGA certification required
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required
• Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
• Experience with boilers, hydronics, controls, combustion, or commercial equipment is preferred but not required for an otherwise strong HVAC technician
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Able to work independently and complete assigned tasks without constant supervision
• Able to follow multi-step instructions and retain previously learned procedures
• Willing to ask questions and continue learning
• Coachable and receptive to feedback
• Strong safety awareness and good judgment
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving and insurance requirements
• Able to work occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations when required

Additional Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening, including:
