Marketing Consultant Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing consultant in Vermont?
Marketing consulting in Vermont requires no state-issued license or registration, so the path runs through education and demonstrated results. Most employers and clients expect at least a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business. From there, building a portfolio of campaigns or measurable outcomes matters more than any single credential. Earning a Google Analytics, HubSpot, or Meta certification strengthens independent and agency-side applications considerably in the Vermont market.
How much do marketing consultants make in Vermont?
Marketing consultants in Vermont earn a median of about $74,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,700 for the lowest 10% to over $110,230 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing consultants in Vermont?
Companies currently hiring marketing consultants in Vermont include CVS Health, Vail Resorts, and Fuse Marketing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's mix of healthcare systems, financial institutions, technology firms, and tourism-driven businesses creates steady consulting demand throughout the year.
Which Vermont cities have the most marketing consultant jobs?
Vermont, Colchester, and Newport account for the most marketing consultant openings in Vermont. Burlington drives the largest share, anchored by the University of Vermont Medical Center, financial services firms, and a dense cluster of technology and digital media companies, while Montpelier's concentration of state government agencies, nonprofits, and insurance sector headquarters generates consistent consulting work in the capital region.
Are there remote marketing consultant jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than most fields. Marketing consulting is largely desk and strategy work, making it well suited to remote arrangements. About 40% of marketing consultant openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broad employer acceptance of distributed work for this role. Digital strategy, content development, and paid media management tend to be the sub-specialties most frequently listed as fully remote.
How can I get hired as a marketing consultant in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior or associate marketing role at a Vermont agency or in-house team, where you build a supervised portfolio before moving into consulting. Firms in Burlington's Church Street corridor and South Burlington's technology corridor regularly hire marketing coordinators and content associates as feeders into consulting tracks. Interning with Vermont nonprofits or tourism boards adds real campaign credits quickly. Completing a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification before applying gives entry-level candidates a concrete, demonstrable edge.
Where can I find and apply to marketing consultant jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to marketing consultant jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your background and preferences, and apply directly to the ones that match.
