Job Description
Responsibilities
The Director of Content & Lifecycle Marketing owns the organization's voice and writes the content that builds authority, moves deals, and keeps clients engaged. This is a hands-on writing role, not a strategy-only seat. You'll set messaging and lifecycle strategy, then execute against it across the website, SEO, long-form thought leadership, account-based campaigns, and sales materials. You'll partner closely with Growth Marketing to keep positioning consistent across acquisition and account-based work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own the organization's tone of voice and write across formats: website copy, long-form thought leadership, SEO content, ABM campaigns, and sales enablement pieces.
- Lead executive messaging and thought leadership that builds authority and supports sales conversations.
- Build content for account-based marketing, tailored to specific accounts and buyers.
- Design and optimize nurture programs, segmented email workflows, and retargeting to improve funnel progression.
- Partner with or oversee PR as the function matures, keeping press materials and executive communications consistent with brand voice.
- Align messaging with Growth Marketing for consistent positioning across acquisition and account-based efforts.
- Partner with Brand & Creative to maintain voice consistency across all touchpoints.
- Lead and develop content and lifecycle team members, setting priorities and performance standards.
- Track engagement, conversion, and retention metrics, and use them to sharpen the work.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- 5-7+ years in content marketing, lifecycle marketing, or B2B marketing leadership.
- A strong portfolio showing range across web, long-form, SEO, and sales content.

- Strong editorial and executive-level writing skills.
- Experience designing and managing email nurture and marketing automation programs.

Marketing Director Jobs in Austin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a marketing director job in Austin?
The strongest path into a marketing director role in Austin runs through the city's technology and SaaS sector, which produces the highest volume of openings. Candidates with experience managing demand generation, product marketing, or brand for a growth-stage company stand out locally. Targeting employers in the Domain and downtown core first gives you the densest concentration of open roles, and Austin's active startup scene creates lateral openings that often convert to director-level positions quickly.
Which companies hire marketing directors in Austin?
Companies currently hiring marketing directors in Austin include Amazon Web Services, DoorDash, and Clients Blackbox, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Austin's employer mix skews toward technology companies, regional healthcare systems, and consumer-facing brands with national or global footprints.
Are there remote marketing director jobs in Austin?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the role's scope. About 43% of marketing director openings tied to Austin are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with fully remote positions most common in digital marketing, content strategy, and performance marketing functions rather than roles requiring in-person team leadership or event presence.
How can I get a marketing director job in Austin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Austin is moving up from a senior manager or associate director role within one of the city's many growth-stage SaaS or consumer tech companies, where promotion timelines are compressed compared to larger enterprises. Austin's startup ecosystem, concentrated in East Austin and the Domain, frequently elevates strong individual contributors into director roles as companies scale. Building a portfolio around product launches, pipeline growth metrics, or brand campaigns specific to tech audiences gives candidates a clear edge with local hiring managers.
Which industries hire the most marketing directors in Austin?
Austin marketing director roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Electronics & Hardware, and Distribution & Wholesale, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Austin's identity as a technology hub combined with its growing life sciences corridor and a long-established music and media culture drives consistent demand across those sectors.
