Marketing Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing professional in Mississippi?
Most marketing roles in Mississippi require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or advertising from an accredited institution. There is no state-issued license specific to marketing in Mississippi. Employers typically look for a portfolio of work, internship experience, and demonstrated skills in digital tools. Completing a Mississippi college or university program with a practicum component and building a portfolio through internships or freelance projects is the most direct path.
Which companies hire marketings in Mississippi?
Employers hiring marketings in Mississippi right now include The Solutions Team, Mississippi Aquarium, and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's healthcare systems, regional banks, and utility companies are among the most consistent sources of full-time marketing positions in the state.
Which Mississippi cities have the most marketing jobs?
Jackson, Flowood, and Gulfport have the most marketing openings in Mississippi. Jackson leads as the state capital and commercial hub, drawing marketing roles from healthcare networks, financial institutions, and government contractors, while Gulfport and Hattiesburg generate demand through retail, hospitality, and regional healthcare employers anchored in those metro areas.
Are there remote marketing jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 25% of marketing openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and digital nature of most marketing work. Roles in content creation, SEO, email marketing, and paid media management are the most consistently available as remote positions.
How can I get hired as a marketing professional in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or coordinator role at a Mississippi healthcare system, regional bank, or mid-size retailer, where entry-level openings appear regularly. Employers like Baptist Health Systems and Trustmark Bank have taken on marketing graduates in support roles that grow into full positions. Building a portfolio through freelance work for local nonprofits or small businesses, and earning a Google or Meta certification, gives candidates a concrete edge over other applicants without agency or corporate experience.
Where can I find and apply to marketing jobs in Mississippi?
