Merchandising Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a merchandising manager in Florida?
Most merchandising manager roles in Florida require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or retail management, though no state-issued license applies to this role. Florida employers typically promote from buyer, visual merchandiser, or department supervisor positions. Completing a category management certification through the Category Management Association strengthens your candidacy. Large Florida retailers and grocers often prioritize candidates with regional market knowledge and hands-on floor experience over formal credentials alone.
How much do merchandising managers make in Florida?
Merchandising managers in Florida earn a median of about $131,900 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,650 for the lowest 10% to over $263,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire merchandising managers in Florida?
Employers hiring merchandising managers in Florida right now include Dollar Tree, Michaels, and Salon Halo, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's dense concentration of grocery chains, hospitality groups, and regional retail headquarters creates steady, year-round demand for experienced merchandising talent.
Which Florida cities have the most merchandising manager jobs?
Tampa, Miami, and Sarasota lead Florida for merchandising manager openings. Miami's retail and import-export economy drives high volume in the southeast, while Orlando's tourism and hospitality sector fuels consistent demand, and Tampa's growing corporate retail presence, including regional distribution and grocery headquarters, supports activity across the bay area.
Are there remote merchandising manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Merchandising manager work is largely hands-on, requiring store visits, vendor meetings, and planogram execution. About 20% of merchandising manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically cover analytical or digital merchandising functions rather than field-based roles.
How can I get hired as a merchandising manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a visual merchandiser, department lead, or assistant buyer at a Florida grocery chain or specialty retailer. Publix and Winn-Dixie parent company Southeastern Grocers both run structured development programs that move associates into buying and merchandising tracks. Building a planogram or store reset portfolio and earning a category management certificate from the Category Management Association gives candidates without direct management experience a measurable edge.
Where can I find and apply to merchandising manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to merchandising manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
