Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and educational best practices and standardized testing preparation.
• Utilize educational technology and learning tools to create IT-integrated lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and promote active engagement.
• Conduct classroom management with a focus on positive behavior reinforcement, fostering an inclusive environment conducive to learning for teenagers.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to students, supporting their social-emotional development and academic growth through personalized feedback and tutoring.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies to ensure consistency and excellence across grade levels.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and achievement milestones to build strong home-school partnerships.
• Incorporate research-based literacy education techniques, creative writing exercises, and linguistics principles into daily instruction to enhance language proficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English Education, Linguistics, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students, with a strong background in English language arts and social sciences.
• Familiarity with curriculum development, instructional design, and implementing IT-integrated lessons in diverse classroom settings.
• Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style, AP style guidelines, proofreading techniques, and copy editing skills for student writing projects.
• Experience working with standardized testing formats such as AP exams or other assessments for middle school learners.
• Demonstrated ability in classroom management, behavior management strategies, and adapting teaching methods to various learning styles.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, and parents; excellent organizational skills for lesson planning and record keeping.
• Understanding of educational compliance regulations, special education needs, and inclusive teaching practices such as Montessori or other specialized methodologies is a plus.
