NP Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a np in Hawaii?
To practice as an NP in Hawaii, you must hold a graduate-level nursing degree, pass a national board certification exam through AANP or ANCC, and obtain an advanced practice registered nurse license from the Hawaii Medical Board. Hawaii requires NPs to maintain a collaborative agreement or hold independent practice authority depending on their practice setting, and a separate DEA registration is needed to prescribe controlled substances.
Which companies hire nps in Hawaii?
Hawaii np roles are posted by Signify Health, The Queen's Medical Center, and Hawaii Health Systems Corporation and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's concentrated health system market means a handful of large organizations account for the majority of postings, so checking each system's career portal alongside Migrate Mate is a practical approach.
Which Hawaii cities have the most np jobs?
Honolulu, Hawaii, and Kapaa have the most np openings in Hawaii. Honolulu drives the largest share by far given its concentration of major health systems, specialty clinics, and VA facilities, while Hilo and Kailua-Kona generate openings through community health centers and regional hospitals serving Hawaii Island's growing and underserved population.
Are there remote np jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, but they're rare. About 42% of np openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that most NP work is hands-on and clinic- or hospital-based. The roles most likely to include remote components are telepsychiatry, care management, and utilization review positions that do not require direct patient procedures.
How can I get hired as a np in Hawaii with little or no experience?
New graduate NPs in Hawaii most often break in through new-grad NP residency or fellowship programs run by Hawaii Pacific Health and The Queen's Health Systems, which offer structured clinical mentorship in primary care and acute settings. Federally qualified health centers on Oahu and the neighbor islands regularly hire entry-level NPs to address rural access needs. Candidates with RN experience in emergency or ICU settings, or those holding a psychiatric-mental health certification, carry a meaningful edge in Hawaii's competitive new-grad market.
Where can I find and apply to np jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to np jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Honolulu, Hilo, Kailua-Kona, and the neighbor islands. Find the roles that fit your specialty and experience level and apply directly from the listing.
