NP Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a np in Oklahoma?
You must hold an accredited master's or doctoral nursing degree, pass a national certification exam through AANP or ANCC, and apply for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license through the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Oklahoma requires NPs to practice under a collaborative agreement with a licensed Oklahoma physician and obtain separate prescriptive authority and DEA registration before prescribing controlled substances.
Which companies hire nps in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma np roles are posted by TeamHealth, Xpress Wellness Urgent Care, and Memorial Health System of Southwest Oklahoma and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Large integrated health systems, rural health networks, and federally qualified health centers across the state are among the most consistent sources of np openings in Oklahoma.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most np jobs?
Oklahoma City, Lawton, and Edmond have the highest concentration of np openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City leads because it anchors the state's largest hospital systems and academic medical centers, Tulsa follows with a strong mix of specialty and primary care employers, and smaller metros like Lawton and Norman see steady demand driven by regional medical centers and VA-affiliated clinics.
Are there remote np jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, but they're rare. About 56% of np openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the hands-on clinical nature of most NP roles. Telehealth positions in psychiatric-mental health and chronic disease management account for the largest share of remote opportunities available in the state.
How can I get hired as a np in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is applying to new-graduate NP residency or fellowship programs, which INTEGRIS Health and OU Health operate specifically for NPs transitioning from RN roles. Candidates with strong RN backgrounds in emergency, ICU, or primary care have the easiest lateral entry into NP roles at rural health clinics and federally qualified health centers, which face ongoing staffing pressure and often accept new NPs. Completing your Oklahoma APRN license and collaborating-physician agreement before job hunting strengthens any application significantly.
Where can I find and apply to np jobs in Oklahoma?
You can find and apply to np jobs in Oklahoma on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oklahoma openings from employers actively hiring right now. Find the roles that fit your specialty and experience level and apply directly.
