We are seeking a skilled and compassionate OB/GYN Sonographer to join our busy OB/GYN practice. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
The sonographer will perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasound examinations, obtain diagnostic images, assist physicians in evaluating findings, and ensure patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare staff are essential.
Job duties include:
- Conducting diagnostic procedures using ultrasound equipment to capture images of the fetus during pregnancy
- Explaining ultrasound procedures to patients and answering any related questions
- Maintaining a calm and comfortable environment for patients during the procedures
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals such as physicians and nurses to understand the required diagnostic information
- Identifying and documenting any abnormalities or irregularities in the ultrasound images
- Presenting diagnostic information to physicians for interpretation and further medical management
- Managing patient records, including recording patient history and procedure details
- Position patients appropriately to ensure optimal imaging results
- Will also conduct non-related ob/gyn ultrasounds
- Must be ARDMS, NT certified. Perinatal experience preferred but not required
Requirements and Qualifications
- Formal education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or an equivalent accredited sonography program.
- ARDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), or eligibility for certification as accepted by the practice helpful but not required
- Experience performing obstetric and gynecological ultrasound examinations required.
- Proficiency with ultrasound equipment, imaging techniques, and electronic health records.
- Strong attention to detail and sound technical judgment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy medical office environment.
