Operations Project Manager Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations project manager in Nebraska?
Most operations project managers in Nebraska start with a bachelor's degree in business, operations, supply chain, or a related field, then build experience in coordinator or analyst roles before stepping into project management. Nebraska does not require a state-issued license for this role, but earning a PMP certification through the Project Management Institute significantly strengthens your candidacy with major Nebraska employers in manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics.
How much do operations project managers make in Nebraska?
Operations project managers in Nebraska earn a median of about $80,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $51,630 for the lowest 10% to over $129,560 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations project managers in Nebraska?
Employers hiring operations project managers in Nebraska right now include HDR, CVS Health, and Metro One LPSG, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's concentration of large manufacturing, insurance, rail, and healthcare organizations means demand is spread across multiple sectors rather than concentrated in a single industry.
Which Nebraska cities have the most operations project manager jobs?
Omaha, Lincoln, and Bellevue account for the most operations project manager openings in Nebraska. Omaha dominates because of its large corporate headquarters in finance, insurance, and logistics, while Lincoln's state government agencies, university system, and healthcare networks generate consistent openings, and Grand Island draws demand from its manufacturing and food processing base.
Are there remote operations project manager jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, and they're more common than in purely hands-on roles, since much of the work involves scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder communication that can be done off-site. About 26% of operations project manager openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a mix of fully distributed roles and positions that require occasional on-site presence. Process improvement and program coordination duties translate most readily to remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a operations project manager in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from an adjacent role, such as operations coordinator, project coordinator, or process analyst, into a junior operations project manager position. Large Nebraska employers like Union Pacific, Nebraska Medicine, and Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing periodically hire operations associates or project support staff who can grow into full PM responsibilities. Earning a CAPM certification and building a portfolio of process improvement projects, even from academic or volunteer work, gives Nebraska hiring managers a concrete reason to take a chance on an early-career candidate.
Where can I find and apply to operations project manager jobs in Nebraska?
You can find and apply to operations project manager jobs in Nebraska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nebraska openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit your background.
