Position Summary:

The Pastry Chef is responsible for assisting in the daily activities of the bake shop, including menu development, inventory and purchasing of supplies, and cost control. Responsible for the production and presentation of pastries and other baked goods. Oversees the activities of the bake shop in the absence of the Pastry Chef Manager. Requires an understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Other duties include helping develop recipes and menus, and/or suggesting alternative baking methods.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for all pastry/desert production for the Dining Rooms and other Club functions.
- Awareness of the quality of goods/food products offered for the preparation of pastries.
- Prepare and serve pastries as per the instructions of the Executive Chef.
- Must be capable of operating efficiently in a high volume operation.
- Participation in dessert menu planning and cost analysis.
- Approves the requisitioning of all products and supplies needed for production of pastries.
- Ensures that high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained in the production area.
- Labeling and dating of prepared desserts.
- Establishing controls to minimize waste and or theft.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Chef or his/her designees.

Requirements

- Culinary Art skills and education.
- 2-4 year’s Pastry experience in a quality high-volume operation.
- Must be able to operate and understand all required kitchen equipment.
- Must have strong culinary skills and great communication skills.

- As a “Team Player” of Boca Woods Country Club, the Clubhouse Manager must be flexible and is required to perform any job, in whatever capacity, as requested by the General Manager that may be necessary for the smooth operation of Boca Woods Country Club.
