Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a pediatric nurse practitioner in Nevada?
You must hold an active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing, which requires completing an accredited graduate nursing program with a pediatric NP specialty track, passing a national board exam such as the PNPC-BC or CPNP-AC through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, and submitting a Nevada APRN licensure application. Nevada also requires a separate prescriptive authority application if you plan to prescribe medications.
How much do pediatric nurse practitioners make in Nevada?
Pediatric nurse practitioners in Nevada earn a median of about $140,670 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $85,380 for the lowest 10% to over $172,170 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire pediatric nurse practitioners in Nevada?
Nevada pediatric nurse practitioner roles are posted by Pediatrix Medical, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Renown Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's largest health systems concentrate pediatric NP hiring in the Las Vegas metro and Reno, where integrated networks run outpatient pediatric clinics alongside inpatient children's services.
Which Nevada cities have the most pediatric nurse practitioner jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Henderson hold the most pediatric nurse practitioner openings in Nevada. Las Vegas and Henderson dominate because the Las Vegas metro is home to the state's largest hospital networks and fastest-growing pediatric outpatient infrastructure, while Reno's openings are driven by Renown Health and a growing cluster of multispecialty clinics serving northern Nevada and the Sierra region.
Are there remote pediatric nurse practitioner jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. About 8% of pediatric nurse practitioner openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how hands-on the role is by nature. The slice of the work that does appear remotely tends to be telehealth follow-up visits, care coordination, and developmental or behavioral health consultations that don't require a physical exam.
How can I get hired as a pediatric nurse practitioner in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a new-graduate or residency program run by a large Nevada health system. Renown Health in Reno and the larger Las Vegas networks periodically offer APRN transition-to-practice programs designed for new grads entering pediatric primary or acute care. Candidates coming from pediatric RN or neonatal nursing backgrounds are well-positioned for lateral moves into NP roles, and holding both a Nevada APRN license and PALS certification before applying gives a measurable edge in competitive markets.
Where can I find and apply to pediatric nurse practitioner jobs in Nevada?
You can find and apply to pediatric nurse practitioner jobs in Nevada on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nevada openings across health systems, outpatient clinics, and specialty practices. Search the roles available, find the ones that fit your credentials and preferred location, and apply directly through the listing.
