Pediatric Registered Nurse Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a pediatric registered nurse in Nevada?
You must graduate from an accredited nursing program, pass the NCLEX-RN, and obtain a license through the Nevada State Board of Nursing before practicing in Nevada. Nevada participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact, so nurses licensed in another compact state may practice without a separate Nevada license. Most pediatric roles additionally expect BLS and PALS certification, and many employers prefer candidates with clinical hours completed in a pediatric or women and children's unit.
How much do pediatric registered nurses make in Nevada?
Pediatric registered nurses in Nevada earn a median of about $103,670 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,500 for the lowest 10% to over $133,270 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire pediatric registered nurses in Nevada?
Nevada pediatric registered nurse roles are posted by Pediatrix Medical, Young Consulting, and University of Nevada, Las Vegas and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's largest hiring activity ties to the greater Las Vegas and Reno metro systems, which operate dedicated children's hospitals, neonatal units, and pediatric specialty clinics.
Which Nevada cities have the most pediatric registered nurse jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Henderson lead Nevada for pediatric registered nurse openings. Las Vegas and Henderson dominate because of the dense concentration of major health systems and the only freestanding children's hospitals in the state, while Reno draws consistent volume from Renown Health and the regional medical center serving northern Nevada and nearby rural communities.
Are there remote pediatric registered nurse jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. Pediatric nursing is a hands-on clinical role, and most positions require direct patient contact in a hospital, clinic, or home health setting. About 7% of pediatric registered nurse openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be telephonic triage, care coordination, or utilization review roles rather than direct bedside nursing.
How can I get hired as a pediatric registered nurse in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a new-graduate nurse residency program, which major Nevada employers including Renown Health and CommonSpirit Health facilities run specifically for nurses without acute care experience. Applying to pediatric float pool or medical-surgical pediatric step-down positions also opens the door, as does lateral experience from labor and delivery or neonatal units. Earning your Nevada RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact and obtaining PALS certification before applying strengthens any entry-level application.
Where can I find and apply to pediatric registered nurse jobs in Nevada?
You can find and apply to pediatric registered nurse jobs in Nevada on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nevada openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and preferred location, and apply directly through each listing.
