Phlebotomist Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a phlebotomist in Nevada?
Nevada does not require a state-issued phlebotomy license, but most employers require a nationally recognized certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology, National Center for Competency Testing, or American Medical Technologists. To qualify, complete an accredited phlebotomy training program, which typically includes classroom instruction and a hands-on clinical externship. After training, pass the relevant certification exam. Many Nevada community colleges and vocational schools offer accredited programs that satisfy these hiring requirements.
How much do phlebotomists make in Nevada?
Phlebotomists in Nevada earn a median of about $45,760 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,280 for the lowest 10% to over $59,480 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire phlebotomists in Nevada?
Nevada phlebotomist roles are posted by Quest Diagnostics, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Global Research Institute and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Nevada's largest hiring comes from hospital systems in the Las Vegas metro and regional diagnostic laboratories serving the state's growing outpatient and urgent care sector.
Which Nevada cities have the most phlebotomist jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and North Las Vegas lead Nevada for phlebotomist openings. Las Vegas accounts for the largest share of postings, driven by its dense concentration of hospital systems, freestanding labs, and high-volume urgent care clinics, while Reno's demand is anchored by Renown Health and the growing Northern Nevada medical corridor, and Henderson's suburban growth has added outpatient and specialty clinic opportunities.
Are there remote phlebotomist jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. Phlebotomy is a hands-on clinical role that requires direct patient contact, so most positions are on-site. About 10% of phlebotomist openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which typically reflects administrative, training coordination, or telephonic patient service roles within larger lab or health system organizations.
How can I get hired as a phlebotomist in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to complete an accredited phlebotomy training program at a Nevada community college such as College of Southern Nevada or Truckee Meadows Community College, which include the clinical hours many entry-level employers require. Large Nevada health systems and diagnostic networks regularly hire new graduates into entry-level collector roles. Candidates who hold a current national certification and have experience as a medical assistant or clinical aide often have an easier transition into phlebotomy positions at hospital outpatient labs and urgent care sites.
