Clinical Pharmacist Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical pharmacist in Nevada?
To become a clinical pharmacist in Nevada, you must earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited program and pass both the NAPLEX and MPJE licensing exams. Licensure is granted by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy, which oversees all pharmacist registrations in the state. Most Nevada health systems also require or strongly prefer completion of a PGY-1 residency, and subspecialty roles in oncology or critical care typically expect additional PGY-2 training or board certification.
How much do clinical pharmacists make in Nevada?
Clinical pharmacists in Nevada earn a median of about $140,030 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,000 for the lowest 10% to over $168,600 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical pharmacists in Nevada?
Nevada clinical pharmacist roles are posted by MountainView Hospital, LUX Infusion, and Banner Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's hiring is anchored by integrated health systems in Las Vegas and Reno that operate both inpatient and expanding ambulatory care pharmacy programs.
Which Nevada cities have the most clinical pharmacist jobs?
Las Vegas, Fallon, and Henderson have the most clinical pharmacist openings in Nevada. Las Vegas drives the largest share of demand given its dense concentration of hospital campuses, specialty clinics, and VA facilities, while Reno's market is shaped by Renown Health and a growing number of outpatient infusion and managed care programs anchored to the University of Nevada, Reno medical community.
Are there remote clinical pharmacist jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they are uncommon. About 0% of clinical pharmacist openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that most roles require hands-on patient care, rounding with medical teams, or on-site dispensing. The parts of the role most suited to remote work are prior authorization review, medication therapy management consultations, and telepharmacy coverage for rural Nevada facilities.
How can I get hired as a clinical pharmacist in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a PGY-1 pharmacy residency through large Nevada health systems such as Intermountain Health Las Vegas or the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, which accept new PharmD graduates each match cycle. Candidates who do not match a residency often begin in staff pharmacist or pharmacy coordinator roles at hospital or specialty pharmacy settings, then transition into clinical positions after building inpatient or ambulatory care experience. Holding an active Nevada Board of Pharmacy license and a current BPS certification eligibility designation strengthens any application significantly.
Where can I find and apply to clinical pharmacist jobs in Nevada?
