Professional Services Engineer Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a professional services engineer in North Carolina?
Most professional services engineer roles in North Carolina require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, or a related field. The role does not carry a state-issued professional license, so employers focus on vendor certifications and demonstrated technical experience. Earning credentials such as Cisco, AWS, or Microsoft certifications builds a competitive profile, and many Research Triangle and Charlotte employers treat those credentials as a practical substitute for years of direct experience.
Which companies hire professional services engineers in North Carolina?
Employers hiring professional services engineers in North Carolina right now include New York Life, Amazon Web Services, and Pendo.io, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. North Carolina's Research Triangle concentration of technology firms and the Charlotte metro's growing financial technology sector create steady, year-round demand for the role.
Which North Carolina cities have the most professional services engineer jobs?
Raleigh, Greenville, and Gastonia account for the largest share of professional services engineer openings in North Carolina. The Research Triangle drives the highest volume, anchored by the technology and life sciences companies clustered around Raleigh and Durham, while Charlotte's financial services and fintech firms fuel demand in the western part of the state and Greensboro's manufacturing and logistics base rounds out the market.
Are there remote professional services engineer jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, and more than many technical roles, because a significant portion of the work involves virtual onboarding, remote configuration, and video-based customer support. About 25% of professional services engineer openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the customer engagement layer has shifted online. Implementation phases that require on-site hardware deployment or data center work remain largely in-person.
How can I get hired as a professional services engineer in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a technical support or associate solutions engineer role at one of the enterprise technology firms in the Research Triangle or Charlotte, where employers such as Cisco and Red Hat run structured new-graduate and associate programs that transition candidates into customer-facing implementation work. Building a home lab, earning an entry-level cloud or networking certification, and targeting internal job rotations from help desk or IT operations roles are the most common lateral moves that open the door without prior professional services experience.
Where can I find and apply to professional services engineer jobs in North Carolina?
You can find and apply to professional services engineer jobs in North Carolina on Migrate Mate, which lists current North Carolina openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
