Project Controls Analyst Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project controls analyst in Georgia?
Most project controls analyst roles in Georgia require a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, though some employers accept business or accounting backgrounds combined with relevant experience. Georgia does not issue a state license specific to project controls, so candidates build credibility through industry certifications such as the AACE International Certified Cost Professional or the PMI Planning and Scheduling Professional credential, both of which are widely recognized by Georgia's construction and infrastructure employers.
How much do project controls analysts make in Georgia?
Project controls analysts in Georgia earn a median of about $102,140 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,290 for the lowest 10% to over $163,320 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project controls analysts in Georgia?
Employers hiring project controls analysts in Georgia right now include The Home Depot, PwC, and CVS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Georgia's heavy investment in transportation infrastructure, energy transition projects, and federal defense contracts at installations such as Fort Eisenhower keeps demand for cost and schedule control professionals steady across the state.
Which Georgia cities have the most project controls analyst jobs?
Atlanta, Georgia, and Georgia have the most project controls analyst openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the largest share of demand as the headquarters hub for major engineering, construction, and utility firms, while Savannah's expanding port and industrial corridor and Augusta's federal and defense presence generate steady openings outside the metro core.
Are there remote project controls analyst jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than many technical fields, since a significant portion of project controls work involves data analysis, reporting, and schedule management that can be performed off-site. About 50% of project controls analyst openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of much of the role. Positions focused on earned value reporting, cost forecasting, and document control are the most likely to offer flexible or fully remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a project controls analyst in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Georgia is starting as a project controls coordinator or scheduler's assistant with a large engineering or construction firm, where structured mentoring is common. Employers such as Georgia Power and major EPC contractors operating in the state regularly bring on recent graduates through rotational programs that include cost and schedule control exposure. Earning an AACE Student membership credential or completing a Primavera P6 course before applying gives candidates a concrete edge, as does prior experience in adjacent roles such as project administrator, cost technician, or construction inspector.
Where can I find and apply to project controls analyst jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to project controls analyst jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
