The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, financially capable, resourceful, and proactive. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential. - Revenue tracking (RT), financial reporting, and project financial reconciliation.
- Invoice and billing coordination/tracking.
- Vendor setup, onboarding, and tracking.
- Purchase order (PO) creation, tracking, and management.
- Monitoring project budgets, invoices, and financial status.
- Maintaining project and financial dashboards and reporting.
- Identifying financial or operational discrepancies and following them through resolution.
- Heavy use of Smartsheet for schedules, trackers, dashboards, reporting, and workflow management.
- Supporting project managers with both day-to-day delivery and overall project controls.
- Provide onsite leadership and supervision of vendors during move and decommissioning execution, clearly communicating expectations, coordinating activities, addressing issues in real time, and maintaining a professional, confident presence with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Basic financial aptitude and comfort working with project financial data
- Advanced organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- MS Office Suite
- Strong Smartsheet proficiency or the ability to become highly proficient quickly
- Ability to anticipate upcoming needs, risks, dependencies, and potential issues
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Resourceful and comfortable developing solutions independently
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities simultaneously
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Demonstrates sound judgment, situational awareness, discretion, and sensitivity
- Strong team player with a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities
- Maintains a positive, solutions-focused attitude
- Strong follow-through with clients, vendors, financial items, and actions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
- Willing and able to travel as required
- Available to work nights and weekends when required
- Ability to remain on feet for 8+ hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Comfortable working in active office, construction, relocation, and move environments

Project Coordinator Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project coordinator job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's dominant sectors: oil and gas, healthcare systems, engineering and construction, and petrochemical infrastructure. The Energy Corridor, Texas Medical Center, and Greenway Plaza are where most openings concentrate. Candidates who hold a CAPM or PMP certification, or who have hands-on experience with scheduling tools like Primavera or MS Project, stand out in a market where technical project environments are the norm.
Which companies hire project coordinators in Houston?
Companies currently hiring project coordinators in Houston include HTS Engineering - Heat Transfer Solutions, TRC, and Graniti Vicentia, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Houston's hiring pool is especially deep among large energy operators, hospital networks, and engineering and construction firms with major regional footprints.
Are there remote project coordinator jobs in Houston?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the industry. About 25% of project coordinator openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, skewing toward roles in software, IT, and professional services rather than energy or construction, where on-site coordination is the standard.
How can I get a project coordinator job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is targeting coordinator assistant or project administrator roles at large engineering and construction firms, hospital networks like HCA Houston Healthcare or Memorial Hermann, or energy companies with structured internship pipelines. Completing a Google Project Management Certificate or pursuing a CAPM helps, and volunteering to coordinate projects within a current role at any Houston employer can substitute for a formal title when applying.
Which industries hire the most project coordinators in Houston?
Most project coordinator openings in Houston sit in Construction & Real Estate, Manufacturing, and Food & Beverage, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Houston's outsized energy sector, the Texas Medical Center's scale as the world's largest medical complex, and a steady pipeline of large infrastructure projects all drive consistent local demand.
