Training Program Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a training program manager in Texas?
Most training program manager roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in human resources, education, organizational development, or a related field, combined with progressive experience in corporate training or instructional design. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role, but earning a credential such as the ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development or SHRM-CP is widely recognized by Texas employers and strengthens your candidacy. Large Texas employers in healthcare, energy, and government contracting frequently prefer candidates with industry-specific training backgrounds.
How much do training program managers make in Texas?
Training program managers in Texas earn a median of about $124,280 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $77,620 for the lowest 10% to over $202,490 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire training program managers in Texas?
Employers hiring training program managers in Texas right now include Google, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Leslie's Poolmart, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's size and industry diversity mean that opportunities surface across corporate headquarters, regional operations centers, and large healthcare networks throughout the state.
Which Texas cities have the most training program manager jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston lead Texas for training program manager openings. Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston drive volume through their dense concentrations of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and energy companies, while Austin's fast-growing technology and government sectors consistently generate roles focused on onboarding and leadership development.
Are there remote training program manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and they're more common than in many other fields. About 24% of training program manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves curriculum development, virtual facilitation, and LMS administration. Roles centered on in-person instructor-led training or plant-floor compliance programs are more likely to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a training program manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to move laterally from a closely related role such as training coordinator, HR generalist, or subject matter expert into a training-focused position. Large Texas employers in healthcare, such as those in the HCA Healthcare system, and state agencies run structured talent development rotations and associate trainer programs that welcome candidates without dedicated training titles. Building a portfolio of sample training materials or a completed ATD certificate course signals readiness to Texas hiring managers before you have formal experience in the title.
Where can I find and apply to training program manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to training program manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings for roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
