Project Scheduler Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project scheduler in Colorado?
Colorado does not require a state-issued license to work as a project scheduler, so the path runs through education and industry credentials. Most employers expect at minimum an associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or project management. Earning the PMI Scheduling Professional credential or the Planning and Scheduling Professional designation significantly strengthens a candidacy. Colorado's construction and aerospace sectors specifically favor candidates with documented Primavera P6 experience alongside those credentials.
How much do project schedulers make in Colorado?
Project schedulers in Colorado earn a median of about $110,050 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,990 for the lowest 10% to over $171,630 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project schedulers in Colorado?
Employers hiring project schedulers in Colorado right now include Connico, Primoris Services Corporation, and HDR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's concentration of major defense contractors, general contractors, and infrastructure firms means demand tends to be consistent year-round rather than seasonal.
Which Colorado cities have the most project scheduler jobs?
Denver, Centennial, and Aurora account for the largest share of project scheduler openings in Colorado. Denver leads because of its density of large general contractors, engineering firms, and corporate headquarters, while Colorado Springs and Aurora reflect the heavy defense and aerospace presence at installations and facilities such as Peterson Space Force Base and surrounding contractor campuses.
Are there remote project scheduler jobs in Colorado?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely analytical fields because many project scheduler roles require on-site coordination with construction crews or collocated program teams. About 44% of project scheduler openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote work most often available for the schedule development and reporting phases rather than field-coordination duties.
How can I get hired as a project scheduler in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a scheduling coordinator or project controls assistant role, which large Colorado general contractors like Hensel Phelps and Mortenson Construction use as feeder positions. Completing a construction management certificate through Colorado State University or the University of Denver and learning Primavera P6 independently makes a candidate competitive for those openings. Lateral moves from roles such as field engineer, project engineer, or cost estimator are common ways experienced workers transition into scheduling without a dedicated scheduler title on their resume.
Where can I find and apply to project scheduler jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to project scheduler jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings across construction, defense, infrastructure, and related industries. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your experience and location preferences, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
