ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Principal Project Specialist, you will have experience & knowledge as a Refueling Project Manager (RFPM) at a PWR nuclear site, or another Project Manager (PM) type service at a nuclear site. You will fill either the dayshift or nightshift PWR RFPM role at our PWR customer sites when we perform refueling services for them and will be able to understand the scheduled activities for each of the refueling tasks that are in the schedule, know how to resolve any problem that may happen while performing these tasks and drive the project to successful conclusion. You will also have to learn the Westinghouse procedures & processes involved with being a project manager, as you will be a part of the RFPM group which is managed by the PWR Operations and Fuel Services Manager.
You will report to the Manager of PWR Refueling Operations. This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost related to the refueling project
- Effectively communicate & oversee with our customers, other contractors, Radiation Protection, site Outage Management, Reactor Engineering, Operations or any other work group that are involved with our Refueling outage.
- A typical refueling outage consists of reactor disassembly, fuel movement and reactor reassembly
- Knowledge with SAP for financial / financial accountability and administrative tasks required for the project.
- Working knowledge of the Primavera scheduling tool to support customer schedule reviews
- Maintain procedures, work orders, processes, plans, briefs, and be able to direct anyone that helps support our refueling outages, as they will be the main contact during our refueling outages they support.
- Promote a safety-first environment and use of Human Performance tools.
- Field assignments typically last from 30 to 60 days which includes, project preparations, execution and closeout.
- Complete the Westinghouse RFPM training or the WPMR / EPMO training which is required to be a PM for Westinghouse.
- Support a PWR refueling outage from project initiation to closeout working directly with our customers and vendors when requested to.
- Learn the Westinghouse procedures & processes involved with being a project manager.
- Participate in the RFPM group which is managed by the PWR Operations Manager.
- Have knowledge and training to support human performance, fatigue rule, ALARA, lessons learned, best practices, operating experiences, and basic knowledge of nuclear outage service work and requirements.
- Obtain unescorted access at customer site
- Participation in the Fitness for Duty Program (Drug and Alcohol screening)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience
- BS Degree, equivalent industry experience or Naval Nuclear education, program experience and leadership.
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager.
- Project Management; Nuclear Plant Work Experience.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000.00 per year.
