Strategy Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy in Pennsylvania?
Most strategy roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field, with a master's degree or MBA preferred for senior positions. There is no state-issued license for strategy work in Pennsylvania. Employers in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh typically look for candidates with consulting firm experience, corporate planning backgrounds, or sector-specific expertise in healthcare, financial services, or energy. Building a record of quantified business impact strengthens applications considerably.
Which companies hire strategys in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring strategys in Pennsylvania right now include CVS Health, Cencora, and PNC Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of large healthcare systems, financial institutions, and diversified corporations in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh means demand for in-house strategy talent remains steady year-round.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most strategy jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Pennsylvania lead Pennsylvania for strategy job openings. Philadelphia dominates due to its density of corporate headquarters, major health systems, and financial services firms, while Pittsburgh's growing tech and healthcare sectors drive strong demand there, and Harrisburg draws strategy professionals into government, public policy, and regulated-industry roles.
Are there remote strategy jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 90% of strategy openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work centers on analysis, planning, and stakeholder communication rather than physical presence. Roles focused on corporate strategy, strategic finance, and business development tend to be the most remote-accessible, while positions requiring regular executive or board-level meetings are more often hybrid.
How can I get hired as a strategy in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a rotational leadership or business analyst program at a large Pennsylvania employer. UPMC, PNC Financial Services, and Comcast each run structured programs that place recent graduates into strategy-adjacent roles before a dedicated strategy track opens. Candidates from finance, operations, or data analytics backgrounds are regularly considered for associate strategy roles. An MBA from a Pennsylvania institution such as Wharton, Tepper, or Smeal can accelerate access to strategy teams directly.
