Manager - Consulting Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a manager - consulting in Pennsylvania?
Most manager - consulting roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in business, management, finance, or a related field, with a master's degree or MBA increasingly expected for senior positions. Pennsylvania does not issue a state license specifically for management consultants, so entry typically follows completing a relevant degree, gaining experience in an analyst or associate consultant role at a firm or in-house strategy team, and building a record of delivered client engagements. Certifications such as PMP or relevant industry credentials strengthen candidacy considerably.
How much do manager - consultings make in Pennsylvania?
Manager - consultings in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $93,830 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $51,250 for the lowest 10% to over $161,770 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire manager - consultings in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring manager - consultings in Pennsylvania right now include Accenture, Wavestone, and RSM, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of healthcare systems, financial institutions, and state government agencies means consulting demand is broad and relatively steady across both large national firms and specialized regional practices.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most manager - consulting jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Colmar are the cities with the most manager - consulting openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia drives the largest share of demand through its dense cluster of financial services firms, health systems such as Jefferson Health and Penn Medicine, and the regional offices of national consulting practices, while Pittsburgh's technology and energy sectors and Harrisburg's state government advisory market account for most of the remaining concentration.
Are there remote manager - consulting jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than many management roles, since consulting work is heavily analytical, presentation-driven, and deliverable-focused rather than tied to a fixed facility. About 100% of manager - consulting openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how normalized distributed client engagement has become in this field. Strategy, financial advisory, and technology consulting sub-specialties tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while operational and on-site transformation roles still require regular client presence.
How can I get hired as a manager - consulting in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is joining a large firm's analyst or associate program and working toward a manager title through internal promotion. Lateral moves from roles such as business analyst, financial analyst, or project coordinator at Pennsylvania healthcare systems or financial institutions also provide a credible bridge, particularly when paired with a PMP certification or an MBA from a Pennsylvania institution such as Wharton or Carnegie Mellon's Tepper School.
