As our organization continues to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our clinical team.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for patients experiencing a variety of mental health conditions. The ideal canidate is compassionate, clinically knowledgeable, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment providing clinical oversight during hours of operation.
This position offers the opprotunity to work with innovative mental health treatments while helping patients achieve meaningful impovements in their quality of life.
Key Responsibilites
Psychiatric Assessment & Treatment
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
- Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions in accordance with DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria.
- Develop individulized, evidence based treatment plans.
- Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychiatric medications within the scope of licensure and applicable regulations.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans as clinically indicated.
- Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management and follow-up appointments.
- Assess Patient safety, including suicide risk, and implement appropriate interventions.
- Coordinate referrals for psychotherapy, specialty care, and additional behavioral health services.
Spravato & IV-Ketamine Services
- Evaluate patients for elgibility and appropriatemenss of Spravato (esketamine) and IV Ketamine treatment.
- Conduct initial consultations, medical psychiatric assessments, and treatment follow-ups.
- Collaborate with nursing and clincial staff to coordinate treatment.
- Monitor patient progress, treatment response, and potential adverse reactions.
- Follow applicable Spravato REMS requirements and organizationsal treatment protocols.
- Ensure appropriate clinical documentation, informed consent, and patient education.
- Participate in treatment planning for patients experiencing treatment resistant depression.
Clinical Documentation
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records.
- Document medical necessity, diagnosis, treatment plans, and patient encounters.
- Follow-HIPPA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Comply with applicable federal and Indiana State laws governing advanced practice nursing and prescribing.
- Maintain required professional licensure, certifications, and prescribing credentials.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, Clinical Leadership, and the MSO, to support quality patient care.
- Participate in clinical quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current, un-restricted Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current, un-restricted Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- Current Indiana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) authority.
- Board certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), current certification through ANCC.
- Current Prescriptive authority in accordance with Indiana requirements
- Current, un-restricted DEA Registration License.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently within the applicable scope of practice and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outpatient psychiatric or behavioral healthcare.
- Experience treating depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric conditions.
- Experience with treatment resistant depression.
