QA Analyst Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a qa analyst in Massachusetts?
Most qa analyst roles in Massachusetts require at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline. There is no state-issued license for qa analysts in Massachusetts, so hiring decisions turn on demonstrated testing skills and relevant certifications. Industry credentials such as ISTQB Foundation or Certified Software Tester are recognized by Massachusetts employers, particularly in life sciences and financial services, and a portfolio of automation work or hands-on testing projects strengthens any application significantly.
How much do QA analysts make in Massachusetts?
QA analysts in Massachusetts earn a median of about $122,210 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,050 for the lowest 10% to over $168,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire qa analysts in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring qa analysts in Massachusetts right now include Replimune, Redwire Space, and Boston Scientific, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of biotech, medtech, and fintech firms means many of these openings require specific domain knowledge such as FDA validation or financial systems testing alongside core QA skills.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most qa analyst jobs?
Boston, Waltham, and Marlborough account for the largest share of qa analyst openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge drive volume through the region's dense cluster of biotech companies, financial institutions, and enterprise software firms, while Worcester's growing healthcare and manufacturing base generates consistent demand for QA professionals with validation and compliance experience.
Are there remote qa analyst jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 51% of qa analyst openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how naturally the analytical and documentation-heavy parts of QA work translate to distributed teams. Roles focused on manual test execution for physical devices or regulated lab environments are more likely to require on-site presence, while automation engineering and test strategy positions are the most consistently remote-eligible.
How can I get hired as a qa analyst in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for associate or junior QA roles at Massachusetts's large life sciences and software employers, where structured onboarding programs often bring in candidates who demonstrate testing fundamentals even without years of experience. Companies such as Thermo Fisher Scientific and mid-size Cambridge biotech firms regularly post entry-level quality associate and validation analyst positions that are accessible to new graduates. Earning an ISTQB Foundation certification and building a small automation portfolio using open-source tools are the credentials that move entry-level Massachusetts applicants to the top of candidate pools.
