Quality Assurance Analyst Jobs in South Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance analyst in South Carolina?
Most quality assurance analyst positions in South Carolina require a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field. South Carolina does not issue a state-specific QA license, but employers in automotive and aerospace strongly prefer ASQ certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor. Candidates targeting life sciences or pharmaceutical roles benefit from FDA quality systems training. Technical programs at institutions like Clemson University, USC, and Greenville Technical College provide relevant foundational preparation.
How much do quality assurance analysts make in South Carolina?
Quality assurance analysts in South Carolina earn a median of about $97,500 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,070 for the lowest 10% to over $135,390 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality assurance analysts in South Carolina?
Employers hiring quality assurance analysts in South Carolina right now include Food Lion, International Vitamin Corporation, and Infojini, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. South Carolina's strong automotive, aerospace, and life sciences base means large manufacturers and contract organizations generate steady, ongoing demand for quality professionals across the state.
Which South Carolina cities have the most quality assurance analyst jobs?
Columbia, Greenville, and Anderson consistently post the most quality assurance analyst openings in South Carolina. Greenville leads because of its dense concentration of automotive and advanced manufacturing facilities, including major Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, while Columbia draws demand from defense contractors and life sciences firms, and Charleston's growing aerospace and logistics sector adds further volume.
Are there remote quality assurance analyst jobs in South Carolina?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 12% of quality assurance analyst openings tied to South Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's strong desk-based and analytical components. Software QA, quality systems documentation, supplier audit coordination, and compliance reporting are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely, while hands-on manufacturing floor roles remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance analyst in South Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for quality technician or quality inspector roles at South Carolina's large manufacturing employers, which routinely promote internally into analyst positions. BMW Manufacturing, Michelin, and major aerospace suppliers in the Upstate region run structured development programs and frequently hire associates from Greenville Technical College and Spartanburg Community College. Earning an entry-level ASQ credential, building experience with inspection tools, and targeting co-op programs at Clemson or USC can also accelerate progression without prior full-time QA experience.
