Quality Program Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality program manager in Texas?
Most quality program managers in Texas start with a bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a related field, then build experience in quality assurance or manufacturing operations roles. Texas has no state-issued license for this role, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold American Society for Quality credentials such as the Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Manager of Quality certification. Aerospace and defense employers in Texas often require familiarity with AS9100 standards before hiring at the program manager level.
Which companies hire quality program managers in Texas?
Employers hiring quality program managers in Texas right now include Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and HEB, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of aerospace primes, semiconductor fabs, and large hospital networks means demand for quality program leadership is distributed across several industries rather than dominated by a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most quality program manager jobs?
Arlington, Houston, and Austin have the most quality program manager openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because of its dense cluster of aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing firms, while Houston's energy, petrochemical, and medical device industries drive consistent demand, and Austin's expanding semiconductor and consumer electronics base has added a growing share of quality program roles in recent years.
Are there remote quality program manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely analytical roles, since quality program management often involves on-site audits, supplier visits, and production floor oversight. About 40% of quality program manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote arrangements most frequently offered for roles focused on quality systems documentation, compliance program oversight, or supplier quality coordination rather than hands-on manufacturing support.
How can I get hired as a quality program manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a quality assurance technician, quality inspector, or manufacturing process associate at a large Texas employer and moving into program coordination from there. Companies like Lockheed Martin, Texas Instruments, and Raytheon Technologies run rotational engineering and operations development programs that place early-career candidates into quality functions. Earning an ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate credential before applying and building experience with ISO documentation or corrective action tracking in any adjacent role gives candidates a clear advantage when competing for their first program manager opening.
Where can I find and apply to quality program manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to quality program manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries including aerospace, manufacturing, healthcare, and technology. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and target location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
