Radiation Therapy Technologist Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a radiation therapy technologist in Minnesota?
To become a radiation therapy technologist in Minnesota, you must complete an accredited radiation therapy program, pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam in radiation therapy, and register with the Minnesota Department of Health, which is the state licensing authority for this role. Most programs are associate or bachelor's level and include clinical rotations. Registration must be renewed on a set cycle and requires continuing education to maintain.
Which companies hire radiation therapy technologists in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring radiation therapy technologists in Minnesota include Mayo Clinic, Allina Health, and CentraCare, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Minnesota's largest health systems tend to have the most consistent openings, particularly those operating dedicated cancer centers or partnering with academic oncology programs.
Which Minnesota cities have the most radiation therapy technologist jobs?
The Minnesota cities with the most radiation therapy technologist openings are Rochester, Minneapolis, and Maplewood. The Twin Cities account for most positions given the concentration of large health systems there, while Rochester is driven heavily by Mayo Clinic's extensive oncology and proton therapy programs, and Duluth draws from regional health systems serving the northern Minnesota and Lake Superior corridor.
Are there remote radiation therapy technologist jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, but they're rare. Radiation therapy technologists work directly with patients and treatment equipment, making most positions inherently on-site. About 0% of radiation therapy technologist openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those that do offer flexibility tend to involve administrative, dosimetry support, or quality assurance functions rather than direct patient treatment.
How can I get hired as a radiation therapy technologist in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a clinical rotation at a Minnesota facility and converting that into a new-graduate hire, which large systems like Mayo Clinic, M Health Fairview, and Allina Health have historically supported. Many candidates also move into radiation therapy from related radiologic technology roles. Holding current ARRT eligibility and completing your Minnesota Department of Health registration before applying puts you ahead of other new-graduate candidates.
Where can I find and apply to radiation therapy technologist jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to radiation therapy technologist jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current Minnesota openings across hospital systems, cancer centers, and outpatient oncology clinics. Find roles that fit your credentials and experience and apply directly to the employers posting them.
