Registered Dietitian Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a registered dietitian in Missouri?
To work as a registered dietitian in Missouri, you must hold an active license issued by the Missouri Division of Professional Registration under the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. Licensure requires passing the Commission on Dietetic Registration credentialing exam and completing an accredited dietetic internship. Missouri also participates in the Dietitian Licensure Compact, so dietitians licensed in compact states may practice in Missouri without a separate application.
How much do registered dietitians make in Missouri?
Registered dietitians in Missouri earn a median of about $65,450 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,980 for the lowest 10% to over $85,900 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire registered dietitians in Missouri?
Employers hiring registered dietitians in Missouri right now include DiningRD, CoxHealth, and Nutritious Lifestyles, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Missouri's large integrated health systems and long-term care networks account for the majority of steady registered dietitian openings across the state.
Which Missouri cities have the most registered dietitian jobs?
Springfield, Independence, and Missouri lead Missouri for registered dietitian openings. St. Louis and Kansas City drive the highest volume because of their dense concentration of hospital systems, academic medical centers, and outpatient specialty clinics, while Columbia draws consistent postings from the University of Missouri Health Care network and the surrounding regional health infrastructure.
Are there remote registered dietitian jobs in Missouri?
Yes, but they are limited. Registered dietitian work is largely hands-on and tied to patient care settings, so fully remote positions represent a smaller share of the market. About 30% of registered dietitian openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. The roles most likely to be remote are telehealth nutrition counseling and corporate wellness consulting positions.
How can I get hired as a registered dietitian in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for dietetic internship-to-hire programs or new-graduate clinical nutrition roles at Missouri's major health systems. BJC HealthCare and Mercy Health both have structured onboarding for early-career dietitians in their St. Louis and Kansas City facilities. Candidates who hold Missouri licensure and a Commission on Dietetic Registration credential stand out immediately. Lateral entry from food service management or diet tech roles within hospital settings is another common route into the profession.
Where can I find and apply to registered dietitian jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to registered dietitian jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Missouri employers. Search for roles that match your specialty, experience level, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
