American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a Level I Trauma hospital requiring dedicated cardiac and vascular surgical experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit within a Level I Trauma hospital
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with fixed or rotating weekends
- No call requirements
- Epic charting system required
- Work settings include CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR
Requirements
- Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- 3 years of overall OR experience required, including 2 years of dedicated cardiac and vascular experience
- 1 year of CVOR experience required
- 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility required
- Scrub experience required
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Proficiency in Epic charting system required
- 2 professional references required, including at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; a Charge RN reference is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide surgical support across cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, transplant, and general OR procedures
- Perform and assist with procedures including CABG, TAVR, VAD placement, aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, TEVAR, and other complex vascular and cardiac surgeries
- Experience with heart and lung transplant procedures required
- Familiarity with robotic surgical systems (Da Vinci) preferred
- Knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia required
- Skilled in infection control, specimen handling, universal protocol (time out) procedures, and wound management
- Locals accepted at the same pay rate
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
- First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
