Reinsurance Claims Analyst Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a reinsurance claims analyst in Ohio?
Most reinsurance claims analysts in Ohio start with a bachelor's degree in insurance, risk management, finance, or a related field, then gain foundational experience in commercial claims adjustment or underwriting support. Ohio does not require a state-issued license specific to reinsurance claims work, but employers consistently prefer candidates pursuing designations through the Insurance Institute of America or the Institutes, particularly the ARe or CPCU. Starting in a direct insurance claims role at a carrier headquartered in Columbus or Cincinnati is the most common local path.
Which companies hire reinsurance claims analysts in Ohio?
Employers hiring reinsurance claims analysts in Ohio right now include The Cincinnati Insurance Companies, Great American Insurance, and Core specialty, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Ohio's concentration of large regional carriers and national insurers with claims operations in Columbus and Cincinnati makes it one of the more active states for this specialty.
Which Ohio cities have the most reinsurance claims analyst jobs?
Fairfield and Cincinnati account for the largest share of reinsurance claims analyst openings in Ohio. Columbus leads because it is home to Nationwide's headquarters and a dense cluster of specialty insurance operations, while Cincinnati draws hiring from Cincinnati Financial and several Lloyd's-affiliated managing agencies, and Cleveland supports demand through its concentration of large self-insured commercial accounts and regional carrier offices.
Are there remote reinsurance claims analyst jobs in Ohio?
Yes, and more than most fields, because reinsurance claims analysis is a desk-based, document-driven role that translates well to remote work. About 100% of reinsurance claims analyst openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the broader shift among carriers toward flexible arrangements for analytical staff. Treaty review, bordereau reconciliation, and coverage opinion work are the functions most consistently offered on a remote basis.
How can I get hired as a reinsurance claims analyst in Ohio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is joining a large Ohio-based carrier as a commercial claims examiner or claims support analyst, then moving laterally into reinsurance once you understand policy language and loss evaluation. Nationwide and Westfield Insurance both run structured claims development programs in Ohio that place new graduates in rotational roles. Pursuing an entry-level ARe or AINS designation while in that first role signals commitment and accelerates consideration for reinsurance-specific openings. Adjacent roles in underwriting support, actuarial assistance, or premium audit also open doors.
Where can I find and apply to reinsurance claims analyst jobs in Ohio?
You can find and apply to reinsurance claims analyst jobs in Ohio on Migrate Mate, which lists current Ohio openings from carriers, reinsurers, and specialty risk firms active in the state. Find roles that fit your experience level and apply directly to each employer through the listings.
